FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GOOD PLACE HOLDINGS CELEBRATES THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF SCOTT MYERS

JUNE 24, 2026

Good Place Holdings honors the life and legacy of Scott Myers, who passed away on June 13, 2026.

While we grieve the loss of a beloved leader, friend, and steward, we also celebrate a life marked by faith, purpose, and service to others. Scott’s influence extends far beyond the organizations he helped build. His vision, values, and unwavering commitment to connecting faith, work, and purpose continue to shape the culture and mission of Good Place Holdings today.

Throughout his life, Scott believed that work was far more than an economic activity. He viewed work as a means of grace and believed organizations could fulfill a greater purpose by serving people, strengthening communities, and honoring God through their daily endeavors. This conviction guided his leadership and inspired the principles that continue to influence Good Place Holdings and its family of organizations.

Scott intentionally built organizations grounded in biblical principles. He believed businesses should create value not only through their products and services, but also through the way they develop people, steward resources, and contribute to the flourishing of others. His hope was that these principles would endure long after his direct involvement, continuing to guide future generations of leaders.

Reflecting on Scott’s life and influence, Dale Bissonette, Chief Executive Officer of Good Place Holdings, shared:

“There are very few people in this world like Scott Myers. He was a man of character, love, and conviction who never sought the spotlight. His response to God’s calling on his life, his deep study of Scripture, and his passion for helping others understand the Creator’s intentions for humanity profoundly impacted me, not only in my work but in every aspect of my life. Scott’s influence will continue for generations to come. Like the foundation of a building, it may not always be visible, but it is essential for helping everything stand strong and true.”

As the author of the Eutopia book collection, Scott shared his theological perspective on work, leadership, and organizational purpose. Through his writings and teachings, he challenged leaders to think differently about the role organizations play in society and encouraged them to pursue a vision of business that serves something greater than itself.

These writings are available through Good Place Publishing, which Scott founded more than 20 years ago. Through Good Place Publishing, he sought to communicate a biblical vision for individuals, communities, and organizations living in what he often described as the “in-between time,” the period between creation in the Garden of Eden and the future New Garden City. Scott believed this is the time in which people join the Creator’s work by offering glimpses of His intended design for life until Christ returns to bring restoration to completion.

Scott began his career with SD Myers, one of the organizations now stewarded by Good Place Holdings, more than 43 years ago. During his tenure, he served in numerous roles, including field technician, department manager, and ultimately President of SD Myers. Following the formation of Good Place Holdings in 2015, he served as Chairman of the Board for more than nine years.

Although Scott’s formal roles evolved over time, his influence never diminished. The culture he helped establish, the values he faithfully protected, and the countless lives he impacted remain woven into the fabric of Good Place Holdings and the many organizations and individuals shaped by his leadership.

We are deeply grateful for Scott’s life, his faith, his leadership, and the legacy he leaves behind. His vision continues to inspire our commitment to helping people reach their God-given potential, building good places, and stewarding resources in ways that contribute to human flourishing.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Myers family, friends, colleagues, and all who are mourning this loss.
